I would highly recommend getting the top cover of private health before you venture into IVF as it covers hospital stays etc
You can also get the option that you don't have an excess to pay. But if you do have an excess it is paid once in a calender year.
Some of the medications that are not covered on PBS you can sometimes claim back through your private insurance as well so certainly worth sending receipts of you have private health insurance.
This is also the cover that you need anyway to pay less in a private hospital for birthing (if you choose to do birth privately)
My private hospital birthing experience was outstanding. I used Greenslopes private hospital in Brisbane and use Dr Melissa McKenzie and it was everything I ever wanted in a birthing experience.
