After a while of doing private IVF I looked into doing some cheaper or public type IVF. Private IVF is expensive and so I explored what other options would look like.

The best that I found was genea, they seemed to be located in quite a few locations around Australia. I had a consult with the nurse and the prices certainly seemed less than private. Although we would have certainly used these guys of we could no longer afford private from a financial perspective, we decided against changing due to a couple of reasons:

- from my consult my understanding was they follow a low stim cycle, this means they don't take any risks with high estrogen levels. So they aim to get you 8-10 eggs. For us our fertilisation rate was low and so whilst the cycle is cheaper you would likely need to do more cycles to yeild the same results from one cycle with a private specialist.

- we felt that lessons learned were with the same lab and serum used and if we changed to a new lab we might have difficulties all over again

Below is a screen shot from the genea website for you to explore if this is a better option for you.
